Each Shaker Oval carrier is handcrafted in the UK, made famous by the Shaker community during the mid 19th century. The Shaker Oval Carrier is classed as size 7, having thin slender sides, symmetrical joints and a neat tight-fitting handle. The sides are held tightly together using copper tacks; the handle is held in place using wooden pegs, forming a very strong and decorative carrier.

Old Fashioned Milk Paint contains just milk protein (casein), lime and natural earth or mineral pigments, making it environmentally friendly, non-toxic, VOC-free, baby-safe, food-safe and biodegradable. A great thing about milk paint is that the colour will never fade.

Although the colour of the milk paint will never fade, it is recommended to protect the colour from everyday oils and dirt which could stain it. Thus a hardwax oil and wax is applied inside and out then hand buffed. Giving a highly lustrous and hardwearing finish, as well as helping to cover marks and scratches enhancing the natural beauty of the wood.
